Meet the Founder

Melissa Stefanski, PhD, LMBT

Clinical Hypnotherapist & Creator of SomaCalm

SomaCalm was created from two things: professional experience and personal experience.

For more than two decades, I've worked with people struggling with chronic stress, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, sleep difficulties, and nervous system overwhelm. Along the way, I discovered something important:

Understanding stress isn't enough. We need practical tools that help the body and mind feel safe again.

My work blends clinical hypnosis, nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and evidence-informed therapeutic approaches designed to help people move out of survival mode and into greater calm, resilience, and restoration.

But my interest in this work isn't purely professional.

Like many people who find their way into the healing professions, I know what it's like to live with racing thoughts, chronic worry, and a nervous system that doesn't always know how to relax.

That's why I created SomaCalm.

I wanted to create a place where women could find effective, compassionate support — whether they need a five-minute reset during a stressful day, help calming an overactive mind at night, or deeper tools to create lasting change.

Because healing doesn't happen through perfection. It happens through small steps, small wins, and giving your nervous system the support it has been asking for all along.
